Have you been diving into mind-body healing practices like therapy, EMDR, brain retraining, and somatic tools, only to feel stuck in your healing journey? If you’ve been doing all the “right” work but aren’t seeing the results you desire, you’re not alone. It’s frustrating when you’re doing everything you’re told but still feel like something is missing.
Today I’m going to explain why the typical mind-body work you’ve been doing hasn’t fully shifted your symptoms and, more importantly, what you need to do to create lasting change.
The Missing Piece in Your Healing Journey
Let’s face it: there’s no shortage of mind-body protocols out there.
In fact, when I started my healing journey, I was bombarded with options—from supplements to detoxes to mind-body therapies. It’s no surprise that mind-body healing is gaining popularity, but here's the catch: with so many options available, it can often feel like just another healing trend—promising everything but delivering little.
I did all the work—therapy, tapping, brain retraining sessions, trauma clearing, and more. These sessions created shifts, but they were always temporary. I’d feel like I had it all figured out, only to fall back into the same old patterns of fear, doubt, and confusion within a few days.
So, what was I missing?
You Can't Rely on External Fixes
Here’s where it gets real: You can’t depend on external solutions, whether it’s a pill, a session with a practitioner, or a specific tool, to do the work for you. I relied on these things for a long time, and it wasn’t until I realized that I needed to take ownership of my healing that everything began to shift.
The turning point in my journey came when I stopped waiting for someone or something else to heal me. I realized that I needed to take daily, conscious actions to retrain my mind and body. This led to the development of my own structured protocol—a way to rewire my subconscious mind that didn’t depend on external fixes but focused on daily practices of healing. And that’s what led to the creation of Mind Body Rewire.
Your Mind is Like a Garden: Tend to It Every Day
Imagine your mind as a garden. If you’ve been planting seeds of healing through mind-body work, therapy, and meditations, great—but if you’re not consistently watering those seeds with intentional, conscious action, the weeds of fear and old patterns will creep right back in. You can’t expect flowers to bloom if you aren’t tending to the soil every single day.
Just like any garden, healing requires consistent care. I had to learn that it wasn’t enough to plant the seeds—I needed to nurture and water them every day.
Neuroplasticity: The Science Behind Lasting Change
Let’s talk about neuroplasticity.
Neuroplasticity is your brain’s superpower to reorganize and form new neural connections. It’s how your brain adapts to new experiences and information. Every time you repeat a behavior, you’re rewiring your brain.
To truly heal, your brain must form new, healing patterns that replace the old, fear-driven ones.
This is where small, consistent actions come in. Just like exercising a muscle, neuroplasticity requires repeated, focused effort to strengthen new pathways.
Rewiring Through Conscious Action: An Example
Take Tracy, for example. She’s dealing with anxiety and digestive issues. We identified that her anxiety stems from a fear of judgment and her digestive issues are tied to holding in anger.
After recognizing these subconscious patterns, the next step is not avoiding these triggers. Instead, Tracy needs to start actively challenging her fears—for example, by speaking up when she would normally stay quiet or taking actions that provoke her fear of judgment.
By doing this, Tracy will rewire her subconscious and, over time, her body will feel safer, which is essential for healing.
Small, Consistent Actions Are Key
If you want to heal, you need to actively challenge your fears and beliefs in manageable ways.
These small steps are essential for rewiring your nervous system to feel safe. But this isn’t about pushing yourself into overwhelming situations; it’s about gradually stepping outside your comfort zone—just enough to signal safety to your body.
Remember, healing doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time, and the real change happens when you make these small shifts consistently.
Healing Is Not About Quick Fixes
We can talk all day about trauma, EFT, or somatic tools, but until you take consistent, daily actions to rewire your subconscious, the change won’t stick.
That’s the key difference in what I offer: a targeted approach that focuses on taking specific, conscious actions to create lasting change. This is why mind-body protocols alone aren’t enough—they don’t help you act to rewire your subconscious patterns.
The Real Path to Healing
Here’s the truth: healing requires you to take ownership of your transformation. You can’t keep looking for someone or something to do it for you. It’s up to you to make small, consistent steps to rewire your nervous system and create safety in your body.
Key Takeaways:
Don’t outsource your healing: You have the power to create change within yourself.
Healing doesn’t happen overnight: It requires time, patience, and consistent effort.
Neuroplasticity is your ally: Small, daily actions help create new neural pathways that promote healing.
Reflect and Take Action
Now, I want you to reflect on your own healing journey:
What areas are you still outsourcing your healing power? Are you waiting for a magic solution or tool to fix you?
Are you actively taking steps outside your comfort zone? Remember, safety comes from facing discomfort, not avoiding it.
What small action can you take today to build trust with your body and challenge an old fear or belief?
