The One Thing I Actually Agree With Doctors On: Supplements

There's a lot I don't agree with in the medical world, but when doctors say you don't need supplements, I actually agree. This topic might ruffle a few feathers, especially if you have a cabinet full of powders, pills, tonics, and herbals promising gut repair, detox, hormonal balance, or anxiety relief.
The wellness industry has sold us the belief that healing requires supplementation. We're told that if we just take the right combination of pills, the symptoms will disappear. However, here's the uncomfortable truth: if symptoms were caused by a missing supplement, you would already be healed. Yet, people spend thousands switching brands and adding more to their cart, without significant changes.
The Role of Symptoms
We need to clarify a major misconception: symptoms are not problems; they are signs of healing. A symptom appears after something has been resolved in the subconscious, indicating your body finally has permission to repair. You can't heal in a stress state. Healing begins when the brain no longer perceives danger. So a symptom marks the resolution of an issue, not its beginning.
For chronic symptoms that last for months or years, it's a signal that the body is repeatedly pulled out of healing and thrust back into protection mode. This suggests the subconscious still perceives something in life as unsafe—not a lack of supplements, but perhaps subconscious patterns such as perfectionism, people pleasing, and overthinking.
The Illusion of Safety
People don't take supplements because they're weak; they take them because they're scared. Symptoms make the brain crave control, and supplements offer the illusion of control. However, taking a pill is simpler than tackling the underlying subconscious patterns.
Doctors and I agree we don’t need supplements—not because they understand subconscious patterns are the root cause (we’re still not aligned there), but because supplements don’t override a subconscious survival response. If the body still perceives danger, no pill changes that. Healing requires rewiring subconscious beliefs to foster a sense of safety.
Using Supplements Wisely
Supplements can be helpful during acute situations—for example, to soothe a throat during a cold. But this is about supporting comfort while the body does what it knows how to do. The idea of "boosting" a system that is already working is a misconception; your immune system responds as designed during illness.
The notion that supplements prevent sickness is false. True prevention involves how you respond to life. If you're always in a perceived threat state, the body adapts, and no supplements can fix that. Healing arises from changes in how you treat yourself and understanding your body's signals.
My Journey to Healing
Years ago, when I finally faced my health issues, I realized supplements weren’t the answer. I didn't heal by managing symptoms with pills—I healed by letting go of control and fear, stepping into trust, and understanding my body’s needs.
I stopped relying on supplements cold turkey and embraced a new mindset. Nothing got worse; in fact, everything improved. The shift came from trusting my body and letting go of the fear that had been guiding my actions. This freedom allowed real healing to begin.
Moving Forward Without Fear
Ask yourself: how much have you spent on supplements without significant results? Are they truly healing you, or are they a way to avoid real solutions? If the thought of quitting them induces panic, know that fear comes from understanding that has not fully settled.
When you experience discomfort in changes, remind yourself of your body's biological design. True healing comes not from additional pills but from understanding why symptoms persist and addressing those root causes.

For 10 years, Jenny worked as a holistic practitioner, relying on supplements, diet, and detox protocols to support healing. But when she faced her own chronic health struggles, those methods failed her.
When Jenny was on her healing journey, she struggled to find a protocol that provided the structure needed to rewire the subconscious. So she created her own process to heal—and that process became the foundation of the Heal & Thrive Framework, a structured, step-by-step method that helps clients identify the subconscious patterns behind their symptoms and rewire them for lasting relief.
Using this exact process, Jenny fully resolved Lyme disease, digestive issues, panic attacks, skin conditions, cystitis, and more. Her own transformation ignited a mission: to help others break free from chronic symptoms and take back control of their health.
At Mind Body Rewire, we have an unwavering belief that healing chronic health issues doesn’t have to be complicated when the focus is on the root cause: the subconscious. We believe every person is fully capable of creating the health and life they desire when they unlock the subconscious programs influencing it.
